Filtering through your clothes part 2
In the second of the clothing filter experiments. This one involves just attaching the material to the rim of the cup.
To make it this way we used the following amounts:
15g of medium grind
200ml water
Put the material over the rim using a peg to keep the Polo shirt then put the coffee in the filter then pour the water through the coffee and leave for 4 minutes.
In the Cup!
Again the fabric works well and doesn’t let any grounds through which is great and allowing it to steep for a longer time which enabled it to extract more from the coffee which it gives the coffee a fuller flavour compared to the other techniques. However again there is still a slight taste from the fabric softener but the potential is there for great cup.
The last thing!
Please if you are going to try this technique make sure that you rise the fabric thoroughly before using it for coffee making otherwise you will ingest chemicals that are harmful!
